5-HTP is a natural building block of serotonin, the neurotransmitter that helps control satiety, mood, sleep patterns, and nervous system function.* However, 5-HTP is one step closer to serotonin and is more easily converted to natural serotonin in your brain or digestive tract. For this reason, most practitioners recommend only about one-fifth the dose of 5-HTP that they do for L-Tryptophan.

Suggested Use
(Adults): Take one (1) capsule one to three times per day with a beverage or meal, or as directed by your doctor. If tapering medication, use Hunter Serotonin Toxicity Criteria, available online.
