SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) is a natural compound made in the body from the essential amino acid L-methionine. It is involved in a number of body processes, including membrane function, neurotransmission, liver detoxification, and bone and joint health.† Although SAMe can be synthesized in the body, it is dependent upon the presence of sufficient levels of other nutrients including methionine, folic acid, and vitamin B12. Dietary supplementation of SAMe is an effective way to support optimal levels of this compound.
Low levels of SAMe may result in lowered serotonin levels, a brain chemical that supports mood and emotional well-being. SAMe is also required for nerve regeneration. SAMe has been shown in numerous controlled clinical trials to support a healthy mood.† SAMe has been shown in animal studies to support cartilage growth and repair. In numerous human clinical trials, SAMe has demonstrated benefits for joint structure and function comparable or superior to those of other sulfur-containing nutrients such as glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM.† Research suggests that the mechanism of action behind this benefit may be due to this compound’s support of cartilage formation.†
Suggested Use
Adults: 1 tablet, 1 to 6 times daily on an empty stomach or as directed by a healthcare professional. Children: As directed by a Healthcare professional. Do not chew or crush tablets.

Caution
