The Science
Saccharomyces Boulardii is a widely studied and extremely useful strain of probiotic yeast that helps support overall digestive health in a variety of capacities. To be an effective probiotic, microorganisms must be able to withstand the natural defenses of the host during transit through the gastrointestinal tract (gut). This includes resistantance to factors like enzymes, bile salts, organic acids and fluctuations in PH as well as the ability to thrive at human core temperatures. This formulation of Saccharomyces boulardii is a stomach acid-resistant probiotic, proven to survive high temperatures and the transit into the intestines.
S. Boulardii supports the immune system by crowding-out "unfriendly" microbes. The gut is populated with a multitude of species of bacteria and yeast.
