Monolaurin is a medium-chain monoglyceride derived from coconut and palm oil that is used to support gut flora, normal levels of fungi and yeast, immunity, and microbial balance.
Suggested Usage
One (1) blue scoop = 1 tsp = 3,000 mg Monolaurin.
Monolaurin tastes quite bitter so most people prefer to take their daily amount with other capsules or tabs and wash them down with any liquid. Simple tip - Tilting the head forward helps swallowing, tilting head back makes swallowing more difficult.
Serving Suggestions for Adults:
A specific protocol:
Children: Adjust to the child’s weight vs. an adult. For example, an 80 lb. child is about 1/2 the average weight of an adult, so 1/2 the dosage.
Pets: Also adjust based on a human adult weight. A 20 lb. pet is about 1/8 of an adult person, so 1/8 the dosage. There are about 80 pellets in a scoop (tsp.). Putting it into soft pet foods will help them eat the pellets.
Important Information: To help avoid a Herxheimer Reaction, consider gradually building up to a full amount over the course of 7 to 10 days.
Herxheimer Reaction: A “herx” reaction can occur when pathogen bacteria "die off" faster than the body can eliminate them. This can cause some mild chills, flu or allergic type symptoms. If this happens, simply stop taking the Monolaurin a day or two to give your body a little extra time to remove the dead pathogens. Resume at a lower dosage and gradually increase, as your body can handle it, to full dosage.
